
JACKSON, Miss. – July 13, 2022 – Waggoner Engineering, Inc., a full-service economic development, planning, program management, and engineering firm, has announced that Eric Jefferson, PE, AICP, PTP, has been named the Discipline Manager for Planning and Development in the Jackson office. He will serve as Waggoner’s technical lead in executing the performance of the services included in the department.
Jefferson has almost 30 years of combined experience as a civil engineer and transportation planner in public and private practice. He has managed numerous transportation projects involving route location planning, environmental impact analysis and documentation, engineering design, and construction administration.

Jefferson joined Waggoner in 2017 as a senior planner and played a significant role in several projects, including the LOU Transportation Plan in Lafayette County, the East Mississippi Intermodal Railroad, and the Capitol Complex Improvement District Master Plan in Jackson.
Before joining Waggoner Engineering, he served as the planning and development director for the City of Jackson. He also worked as a transportation engineer and senior planner for Stantec.
A registered Professional Engineer in Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, and Tennessee, Jefferson holds a Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from Jackson State University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University.
He is also a professional planner with certifications from the Transportation Professional Certification Board and the American Institute of Certified Planners.
