JACKSON, Miss. – August 16, 2022 – Waggoner Engineering, Inc., a full-service economic development, planning, program management, and engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Tracy Whitaker has joined the firm as a Lead Construction Representative based in our Jackson office.
In his new role, he will manage all Waggoner construction representatives, oversee all CR training & development, and provide the essential function of Quality Control over all field activities
Whitaker has over 12 years of professional experience in construction, engineering and inspection, materials sampling, and testing in the field and lab.
“We’re glad to have Tracy join the team,” said Waggoner Construction Discipline Manager Franklin Hines, PE. “He is a Mississippi native who is glad to be back home after several years in Florida working on FDOT Transportation Projects. He brings the expertise and knowledge to position Waggoner to compete in the MDOT/State Aid Construction Engineering & Inspection (CE&I) Market.”
Before coming to Waggoner, Whitaker served as a roadway inspector and senior roadway inspector of numerous construction projects for the Florida Department of Transportation. He has extensive experience in field construction oversight, including drainage system installation, subgrade stabilization, road base construction, concrete bridge deck, concrete pavement, asphalt milling, and paving operations.
Whitaker spent almost a decade as a construction materials testing technician with Soiltech Consultants. His project responsibilities included concrete field testing and inspection, laboratory compressive strength testing, soils, and field testing, laboratory soils testing and classification, asphalt testing, field inspection, and concrete mix design formulation.
