JACKSON, Miss. – Waggoner Engineering, a full-service economic development, planning, program management, and engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Kenny Ferachi, PE has been named Chief Operating Officer.

As Waggoner’s COO, Ferachi will work closely with Matthew T. Butler, President and CEO, to provide support for business operations activities across the entire firm. Waggoner’s current firm profile includes over 250 employees in 19 office locations across six states and Washington, D.C.

Ferachi has more than 25 years of progressive experience in the civil and environmental engineering field. He has served as project manager and design engineer on over $900 million of infrastructure projects in the State of Louisiana.

For almost 14 years, he served as President of Manchac Consulting Group (Manchac), a professional civil/environmental engineering and operations firm headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Under Ferachi’s leadership, Manchac also developed two fully-owned subsidiaries, Atakapa Services (Atakapa) and Manchac Management Services.

In a business agreement that went into effect on August 31, 2023, Manchac and its subsidiaries were acquired by Waggoner, and Ferachi integrated into Waggoner’s leadership team. Most recently, he served as Waggoner’s Senior Vice President, Water Market Sector.

“As we know from his past leadership of Manchac and Atakapa, Kenny brings the experience necessary for Waggoner’s COO role,” said Butler. “With his business operations support, I know we will continue along our successful path.”

Ferachi is a licensed/registered professional engineer in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Louisiana State University.
