
HERNANDO, Miss. – Waggoner Engineering is pleased to announce that Grant Wood, EI has been promoted to Senior Civil Analyst in the firm’s Mid-South office.
In his new role, Wood will take more responsibility in analyzing, planning and designing civil infrastructure to meet client and community needs in accordance with applicable engineering standards and criteria.
Wood joined Waggoner in January 2023 as a graduate engineer. In that role, he assisted project engineers and managers with various aspects of engineering design and provided client support services.
Notably, Wood provided extensive client support for the DeSoto County Regional Utility Authority, including permitting, site visits and technical assistance when needed.
He also assisted with transportation projects for the Agri-Center in DeSoto County, providing engineering design, compiling plans and delivering specifications for numerous phased projects, all the while following the Mississippi Department of Transportation Local Public Agency (LPA) process.
Before Waggoner, Wood performed research-related work at Mississippi State University for construction site and road work safety and assisted in the initial creation of virtual reality training methods for the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University and is continuing his education by pursuing a master’s degree in construction engineering.
Wood recently passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and is a certified Engineer Intern in Mississippi.
