JACKSON, Miss. – Waggoner Engineering, a professional civil engineering and consulting firm with a passion for helping communities realize their full potential, has announced the promotion of Hayden Overby, PE, to the role of Mississippi Water Market Leader.

In his new role, Overby will build on Waggoner’s strong position in the state’s water market by deepening relationships with stakeholders and municipalities, driving business development opportunities, and overseeing key projects and client accounts.

Since joining Waggoner in 2017, Overby has been integral in advancing infrastructure projects across transportation, water, wastewater, drainage and aviation. His multifaceted expertise encompasses project management, planning, surveying, design and construction inspection, making him an asset to the firm and its clients.

Most recently, Overby has provided leadership for Madison County’s initiatives supporting critical developments tied to the Amazon Web Services mega site. He has also worked with numerous municipalities, delivering transformative infrastructure solutions tailored to their unique needs.

Hunter Arnold, PE, Senior Vice President and former Water Market Leader, will work closely with Overby during the transition period. With 34 years of service at Waggoner, Arnold is a respected technical leader in Mississippi and the Gulf Coast region. He will continue as Senior Vice President while mentoring Overby in his new leadership position.

Overby is a licensed Professional Engineer in Mississippi and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.
