MERIDIAN, Miss. – Waggoner Engineering, a professional civil engineering and consulting firm with a passion for helping communities realize their full potential, is pleased to announce the promotion of Chris Gant, PE to Area Manager – East Mississippi.

In this role, Gant will strengthen client partnerships and oversee major project delivery in the region. With a strong record of delivering engineering solutions in Meridian, including leadership at Key Field’s 186th Air Refueling Wing and oversight of municipal infrastructure projects, he will continue to drive business growth and ensure operational efficiency.

A retired Lieutenant Colonel with the Mississippi Air National Guard, Gant joined Waggoner in 2023 and brings over 30 years of leadership experience in military and private-sector engineering.

At Key Field’s 186th Air Refueling Wing, Gant served as Deputy Commander of the Mission Support Group, overseeing operations for nearly 500 personnel across multiple units. He led emergency response and recovery efforts for both natural and man-made disasters. As Base Civil Engineer for the Civil Engineer Squadron, he managed engineering operations and facility services for 410,000 square feet of infrastructure on a 135-acre property.

Since joining Waggoner, Gant has played a critical role in improving Meridian’s water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting long-term sustainability.

Gant is a licensed Professional Engineer in Mississippi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the US Air and Space Force’s Air War College and Air Command and Staff College, both part of Air University.
