
JACKSON, Miss. – Jejal Reddy Bathi, PhD, PE, a Waggoner Engineering Watershed Technical Manager and Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), was honored with a Service Award by the Faculty Awards Committee of the UTC Faculty Senate on April 22, 2025. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to university service and academic excellence.
Bathi joined Waggoner in 2023, bringing nearly 25 years of professional and academic experience to the role. His engineering expertise spans stormwater treatment, watershed hydrology, water quality modeling and low-impact design/green infrastructure. Prior to joining Waggoner, he served as a principal engineer at an Alabama-based firm for nearly 15 years, where he led complex water resources projects.
“Jejal’s commitment to service and knowledge-sharing reflects values we uphold at Waggoner,” stated Bill McDonald, PhD, PE, Discipline Manager. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication he brings to both his students and his project work. We’re proud to have him on our team.”
Bathi holds multiple degrees, including a doctorate in civil engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Alabama. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama.
