JACKSON, Miss. – Waggoner Engineering, a full-service economic development, planning, program management, and engineering firm, welcomes Jonathan Charbonnet, PE (HI) as Vice President of Louisiana Business Operations.

In this role, he will oversee operations while playing an instrumental part in mergers and acquisitions integration, executing and driving value creation, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded, and promoting company culture.

Charbonnet brings to the position over 24 years of experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry, specializing in program, project, and construction management. He has served as resident or project engineer on countless initiatives, and has extensive project and design management experience for large infrastructure capital improvement programs.

Most recently, he served as Director of Louisiana Operations for Atlas Technical Consultants in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, responsible for overall operations. Instrumental in growing the Louisiana office from the ground floor, Charbonnet managed approximately 30 staff, monitored the area’s profit and loss, and developed the company’s growth pursuit strategy.

Charbonnet’s early career was spent in the United States Navy, where he served as Assistant Officer-in-Charge of Construction for the Naval Station in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Company Commander/Detail Operations Officer at the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FORTY in Port Hueneme, California; and Resident Officer-in-Charge of Construction for the Naval Air Station in New Orleans, Louisiana. In these roles, he gained experience in construction, contingency construction, and disaster recovery operations while managing multi-million dollar projects carried out to the US Navy’s exacting standards.

Charbonnet holds a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering Management from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Hawaii.
