
JACKSON, Miss. – Matthew Butler, President and Chief Executive Officer at Waggoner Engineering, has been named a Top CEO of 2024 by the Mississippi Business Journal.
The annual awards honor the state’s top chief executives across a variety of industries.
The honorees were announced in Jackson, Mississippi on June 13 at an Old Capitol Inn breakfast meeting. Butler will be featured in a special issue of the Mississippi Business Journal in July.
“It is a great honor to be named a Top CEO in Mississippi,” Butler said. “Since joining Waggoner in 2023, I’ve sought to continue the legacy of Waggoner’s almost 50 years as a Mississippi-headquartered company as we grow across the state and the Southeast region.”
Butler has over 30 years of experience in operations and sales. His expertise lies in transforming companies into recognized leaders in the architecture/engineering/construction industry. Under his leadership, Waggoner premiered on the ENR 2024 Top 500 Design Firms list at number 391.
As President and Chief Executive Officer, his responsibilities include accelerating firmwide operational performance and overseeing the transformation of the company’s business model in collaboration with leadership across the firm’s 19 offices throughout the Southeast.
