July 16, 2024 – Kevin Day presented “Mapping the Future: Leveraging Census Data and GIS for Sustainable Community Development” at the WTS Mississippi Lunch and Learn, co-sponsored by Waggoner. With WTS’s commitment to advancing women in transportation, Kevin’s presentation highlighted ways that GIS and census data can aid in sustainable community planning, providing tools for analyzing demographic trends and improving transportation networks.

August 6, 2024 – Alex Bohannon presented on “Transforming the Dam Rehabilitation Experience Using SITES” during a luncheon hosted by the Jackson Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Alex explained the vital role of SITES, a rainfall-runoff model used in dam design to proportion the main and auxiliary spillways of a dam, in developing safe, efficient dam rehabilitation solutions.

October 10, 2024 – Tracey Milton and Clinton Russell presented “Building the 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) for the Upper Pearl HUC 8 in Mississippi” at the Mississippi Association for Spatial Technologies (MAST) Conference in Long Beach.
