
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Waggoner Engineering, a civil engineering and professional consulting firm dedicated to helping communities reach their full potential, welcomes Michael Mecredy, PE, BCEE as Industrial Practice Leader.
Mecredy brings more than 14 years of experience in industrial water and wastewater treatment, including expertise in primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes. He has served as lead process design engineer, project manager, and project director, guiding projects from concept development through detailed design, construction, and operation. His experience spans the full project lifecycle for both traditional and alternative delivery methods.
Before joining Waggoner, Mecredy progressed through roles of increasing responsibility at a leading civil engineering firm. He gained experience in diverse industries such as alternative energy, aviation, biofuels, food and beverage, mining, petroleum refining, pharmaceutical, solid waste, specialty chemicals, and textiles. Most recently, he served as Director of Client Services and Market Sector Director, successfully leading business development and client-focused strategies.
Building on this expertise and collaborating closely with Scott Phillips, Senior Vice President and Interim Water Market Leader, and Scott Promer, PE, Director of Utility and Industry, Mecredy will drive technical excellence for Waggoner’s industrial projects.

Mecredy earned a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a concentration in water and wastewater treatment and fluid mechanics. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan and Kansas and is also a Board Certified Environmental Engineer.
