Graphic titled “Stepping Up: Intern to Career” promoting Waggoner’s internship program. The design features a large red upward arrow symbol and a photo of a laptop showing the Waggoner internships webpage. Three bullet points highlight benefits: “Secure a career role – Qualified interns invited to full-time,” “Gain real-world experience – Learn from mentors and teammates,” and “Start a part-time internship – Begin working while still in school.” The Waggoner logo and website link waggonereng.com/internships appear on the graphic.

Waggoner Engineering is excited to share that both Logan Bertrand and Brooks LaPlace, EI, who began their journeys with us as part-time interns while completing their undergraduate degrees, officially transitioned into full-time roles in May.

This milestone reflects their dedication and contributions during their student internships. Now, as full-time professionals, they bring valuable project experience, fresh ideas and a strong understanding of our firm’s values and work culture.

Both earned bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering in May 2025—Bertrand from McNeese State University and LaPlace from Louisiana State University.

Bertrand joined our Lake Charles office in February 2023 and has supported various water and wastewater projects across the Southwest Louisiana region.

LaPlace began working part-time at our Baton Rouge – Airline office in September 2024 and has contributed to highway, bridge and hydraulic design projects. He earned certification as a Louisiana Engineer Intern in early July 2025.

“Logan and Brooks aren’t just new hires. They’ve already become a valued part of our team,” said Johnnie Knobloch, Director of Human Resources. “We’re proud to support their growth as they step into the next chapter of their Waggoner careers.”

Their transition from part-time to full-time reflects the shared commitment of Waggoner and Trilon Group to investing in emerging professionals and building lasting career pathways for early-career talent.

Waggoner congratulates these two employees and thanks all who mentored them along the way. This is a shared success for our people, our clients, and the future of our firm.
