JACKSON, Miss. – August 10, 2020 – Waggoner Engineering, Inc., is excited to announce the acquisition of Applied Engineering & Science Consulting, LLC (AES). The business combination went into effect on July 1, 2020.

Headquartered in Auburn, Alabama, AES provides complementary services to what Waggoner offers, including engineering and consulting in the disciplines of water, wastewater, asset management planning, business analytics, environmental compliance and permitting, and stormwater compliance to a diverse client base in the utilities and industrial markets.

“They offer unique expertise that can supplement and strengthen our current suite of services, including data analytics and asset management, America’s Water Infrastructure Act compliance, organizational analysis, and technology evaluation,” said Emad Al-Turk, PE, President of Waggoner. “We are excited to add these services to the Waggoner profile and offer these added-value services to our clients.”

With the addition of the AES staff members, including Bill Vaughan, PE, Vice President of Operations and Ron Thompson, PE, Vice President of Technical Operations, Waggoner will expand its utility division, based in Birmingham.

Waggoner has worked with both Thompson and Vaughan on various projects for over 25 years. That history played an essential role in this partnership.

“We understood the culture, people, and the client service approach based on the many years of interaction both in Mississippi and Alabama,” Thompson said. “I look forward to creating new relationships and serving clients.”

“Being part of the Waggoner team is an excellent match in culture and business approach,” Vaughan said. “Our longstanding relationship and identical commitment to excellent client service provides many, many exciting opportunities for years to come.”
