The Center Street to North Street drainage improvements project included clearing and stabilizing an existing ditch in the Ocean Beach estates neighborhood, which was experiencing frequent flooding of streets due to a lack of storage options and an overgrowth of invasive species vegetation. In addition to improving hydrologic flows, roadway structures were replaced and extended to provide a safer roadside experience along with the minor collector on Center Street. The result promotes easier maintenance for the county road department, better surface drainage on local roads, enhanced detention rates for stormwater runoff, and roadside safety.

Project Details
The project stabilized over 700 feet of a county drainage ditch that drains the Ocean Beach and St. Andrew’s neighborhood infrastructure. The project was authorized under the USACE Nationwide 41 permit for reshaping existing drainage ditches.
