Ridge Restoration Program Management

Watershed/Coastal
Plaquemines Parish Government
Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana

Program management services were provided to support Plaquemines Parish’s Ridge Restoration Program. Eight different engineering design teams were assigned to various project portions. Waggoner gathered all pertinent project data and background information, communicated it to the design teams, and ensured that all disciplines understood all information. A crucial component was the selection of projects in continuity with the State of Louisiana Coastal Master Plan based on feasibility, cost, flood reduction, ecological benefits/impacts, and logistics.

Coastal Engineering Design

In addition to the overall program management, Waggoner completed the preliminary coastal engineering design for one program component. The Bayou Grand Chenier Ridge and Marsh Restoration Project was designed to restore approximately 152 acres of ridge and 320 acres of marsh, primarily through pipeline sediment delivery.
